Disaster
April 19, 1995

I spent 10 days covering the Oklahoma City bombing. Go to the amazing online archives of The Oklahoma Daily to see continuing bomb coverage with pictures, stories, editorials, links and other information.

While I was covering the bombing, I wrote a set of journals for 10 days as I was covering the story. Since then, the journals have been used in a journalism textbook, distributed on USENET newsgroups and incorporated into the curriculum for Denver schools during the Timothy McVeigh trial. I covered different aspects of the bombing's aftermath for The Daily and for Reuters News Service.

Here are the journals, still in their original formats and with very minor content editing.

I put off an epilogue for a long time, but on the second anniversary of the bombing, I wrote Epilogue: Two Years Later.
